Grease Trap Pumping for Restaurants and Facilities

Grease trap pumping is a commercial service, and the call usually comes from one of a few places: a restaurant owner whose dish pit is draining slowly, a facility manager with an inspection on the calendar, or a property manager responsible for an interceptor shared by several tenants. The details differ, but the need is the same. You want the trap emptied on a dependable interval, a record of the visit for your file, and nothing left over for you to chase.

For Restaurants

A full grease trap in the middle of a dinner rush is the kind of problem that stops a kitchen. We set a pumping interval that matches how much fat, oil, and grease your line actually produces, book the visits around your busiest periods, and confirm the price before the first one. Each pump-out removes the whole contents of the trap, not just the grease cap on top. You get a record of every visit for your FOG compliance file and a trap with room in it until the next one.

For Facilities and Property Managers

Nursing homes, schools, hotels, and multi-tenant buildings with a shared interceptor need grease trap pumping that happens without anyone having to remember it. We confirm the on-site contact and access ahead of time, keep the trap on a recurring interval, and provide a record for whoever maintains the compliance file. If you oversee more than one kitchen or building, every trap can run under a single arrangement and one schedule. The grease trap becomes a maintenance item that stays handled and documented.

What You Get

What a Grease Trap Pump-Out Includes

A grease trap only does its job when there is room in it. Pumping empties the trap so it can keep separating fats, oils, and grease (FOG) from the water leaving your kitchen, and doing it on a schedule is what keeps the drains clear and your FOG records in order. Here is what each pump-out covers, where the waste goes, and how the service stays on a dependable rhythm once it is set up.

Pumping and Disposal

The core of the service: the full contents of the trap removed and hauled away, with the unit left ready to go back to work.

The Visit, Start to Finish

What Happens During a Grease Trap Pump-Out

A grease trap pump-out is a routine visit, and the less your staff has to think about it, the better it has gone. Most of what you need to do happens before the first one: tell us where the trap is, who the on-site contact will be, and when the kitchen is quietest. After that, the service runs on the schedule we set together.

1

Call or send the form with the name of the business, the address, the type of trap (an indoor unit or an in-ground interceptor), its size if you know it, and when it was last pumped. That is enough for a free estimate and a price you know before we start. If the drains are already slow or grease is showing at a floor drain, say so, because it changes how soon the visit should happen.

2

Before the visit we confirm who will meet us, how we reach the trap, and the window that causes the least disruption to your kitchen. An indoor trap means the hose comes through the building, so a quiet period matters; an outdoor interceptor mainly needs a clear path for the truck and lids that are not blocked or buried. Settling this once means every later visit follows the same routine without a new round of phone calls.

3

On the day, we uncover the trap, lower the hose to the floor of the unit, and pump out the grease cap, the water, and the settled solids until it is empty. We watch how it drains and how full it was for its size, because that tells us whether the interval is right. The work stays contained to the trap itself; we only need the immediate space around it kept clear while the hose is in place.

4

Once the unit is empty, we scrape and rinse the walls and baffles, look over the inlet and outlet, then put the lids back and leave the area as we found it. None of this is a formal inspection, but it is where a damaged baffle or tee gets noticed early, and replacing one is work we do ourselves. If heavy buildup calls for hydro jetting or pressure washing, we tell you and can add it to the visit.

5

You receive a written record of the service with the date, the site, and the work performed, which belongs in your FOG compliance file. Before we leave, we tell you how full the trap was and confirm the interval for the next visit, adjusting it if the trap filled faster or slower than expected. From there the schedule carries itself, and you only need to call if something about the kitchen changes.

Need Grease Trap Pumping? Put Your Trap on a Schedule.

A grease trap rarely announces that it is full until the kitchen drains slow down or someone asks for the service records. The fix is routine: get the trap pumped properly, put it on an interval that matches your kitchen, and keep the paperwork current. Tell us about your setup and we take it from there, with a free estimate, a visit booked around your kitchen, and a price settled before any work begins. Call or send us a message, and we'll get you a free estimate.

Common Questions About Grease Trap Pumping

These are the questions restaurant operators and facility managers ask most before setting up grease trap pumping, answered plainly. Title 5 requires grease traps to be pumped or cleaned at least once every 3 months and your local Board of Health enforces it, while forms and other details vary from one town to the next, so treat the answers here as the general picture and check your own program for specifics. If your situation is not covered, call and describe the kitchen; it is usually a short conversation.

General Questions

Often enough that grease and solids never take up more than a set share of the trap, which many FOG programs put at 25 percent of its depth. How quickly a trap reaches that point depends on its size and how much your kitchen sends through it: small indoor traps fill quickly, often in a matter of weeks, and large in-ground interceptors take longer. Whatever the trap looks like, Title 5 requires it to be pumped or cleaned at least once every 3 months, and your local Board of Health enforces it. We suggest an interval after the first pump-out, based on what we actually found, and adjust from there.

Scheduling and Compliance

Not sure what your kitchen needs? Call and describe the setup. You will get a straight answer, not a sales pitch.
